Jeff Sharlet at LitHub

My longtime friend and writing mentor, Jeff Sharlet, has a lovely little essay at LitHub about being trolled by aspiring writers–but ultimately about why he reads what he does. He uses his response (to a passive-aggressive inquirer named Alan) to highlight the things he is reading, including a gorgeous essay by Scott Korb at VQR, “Good for You,” an essay at Ghettoblaster by Mike Ladd called, “Two Weeks in Paris,” and the stunning new novel by Alexander Chee, The Queen of the Night, among others. He also mentions The Good Death. (Thank you, Jeff!) You can read Sharlet’s essay here.
